REGISTER.GOP BY NATIONAL REPUBLICAN COMMITTEES WINS A 2015 POLLIE AWARD
MARCH 20, 2015
Washington DC, Last night the American Association of Political Consultants (AAPC) awarded Register.gop a 2015 Pollie Award for the category “best use of new technology.” The Pollies are awarded annually to recognize outstanding achievement in both political parties for tools, ads and fundraising feats during election cycles.
Launched last fall in advance of the 2014 midterm elections, Register.gop is a coordinated effort between the Republican National Committee (RNC), Republican Governors Association (RGA), National Republican Senatorial Committee (NRSC), National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) and Republican State Leadership Committee (RSLC) to make voter registration more accessible for English and Spanish-speaking voters. The site gained notoriety through a #RegisterGOP social media campaign that engaged voters across the country.
“We are excited to work with our sister committees and be a part of this revolutionary effort that will help unite the Republican Party on all fronts,” said RNC Chairman Reince Priebus. “Register.gop raised the bar for how our Party approaches voter registration and will continue being an important tool for us as we head into 2016.”
NRCC Chairman Greg Walden (R-OR) added, “Whether serving as an easy-access voter registration tool for our campaigns and teams in the field or making it easier for the Spanish-speaking community to register through its bilingual functionality, Register.gop
This award marks unprecedented coordination between the major Republican committees that is unmatched by the Democrats. Register.gop
“We have an electorate, candidates and campaign teams who rely more and more on their mobile devices,” said RSLC Chairman Bill McCollum. “The simplicity of registering voters in minutes on their phones or tablets through Register.gop is really making a difference for our Party.”
